ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision against Penn State Altoona on Friday night in a non-conference match.
The Nittany Lions put in their first goal in the 30
th minute as a cross was deflected by Neumann's goalie for a 1-0 lead. The game remained close as the Knights were outshot by only a 9-7 difference. The shots on goal were 4-3 with the same difference in corner kicks, both in favor of Penn State Altoona.
In the 65
th minute, a shot from distance found its way in to double the Nittany Lions lead. Overall, Neumann was outshot 17-11, 9-4 on goal.
Delaney Babish led the Knights' effort with three shots, all on goal.
Ebony Arvelo and
Julianna Hatt had two shots each.
Kiki Soto got the start in goal and made five saves.
Shannon Duffy played the last 10 minutes and made two stops.
Neumann (2-5) will try to get back into the win column on Wednesday afternoon when they host FDU-Florham for a 4:00 PM start.
