WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Neumann University Men's Soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision in a Wednesday evening non-conference affair against 16
th-ranked Catholic University.
Despite Neumann controlling a slight majority of play, it was Catholic who struck in the first half as a corner kick was half-volleyed in at the 26
th minute. The Knights did outshoot Catholic by a 5-4 margin with Neumann carrying a 3-1 edge in shots on goal, but the scoreline remained the same through the halftime break.
The games' pace remained the same with possession being close to even but in the 66
th minute, the Cardinals doubled the lead. It was a battle on the goal line that was won by Catholic with a pass that was angled to the top of the 18-yard box and whistled home.
Harry Beugre led the offensive attack for the Knights with three shots, two on goal.
Jordan Illian added three shots of his own with one reaching the net.

Neumann (3-2-1) will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they host King's College for a 1:00 PM start.
