Baseball Drops Series Finale at Centenary

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Neumann University Baseball team were handed a 13-1 decision on Sunday afternoon in the final game of an Atlantic East Conference series against Centenary University.

The Cyclones got on the board in the bottom of the second inning on a sacrifice fly for a 1-0 lead. They followed with a big third inning to pull away. A run-scoring error, an RBI grounder, an RBI single, and a two-run double turned into a six-run advantage. In the fourth, Centenary put up two more runs on a sacrifice fly and an RBI single.

The Knights were able to break the shutout in the top of the sixth when Jackson Armiger led off with a triple to right, and scored on a Nick Ciesielka grounder. The Cyclones cam right back in the sixth and scored five more runs on a wild pitch, a three-run double, and an RBI single, sealing the game.

Armiger went 2 for 3 with a triple and a run scored. The Knight also picked up single hits by Andrew Brown, Jordan Tocci, and Donovan Brooks. Alex Gambol was handed the loss to drop his personal record to 3-2.
