SALISBURY, Md. – The Neumann University baseball team battled at No. 14 Salisbury University on Tuesday afternoon, falling 14-5.
The Sea Gulls jumped out to an early 7-0 lead in the first inning.
Jackson Armiger led off the second with a walk and scored on a double by
Yoan Feliz. Feliz came around to scored on a single by
Anthony Rakotz.
In the fourth inning, Brady Foltz was hit by a pitch and scored on a single by
Donovan Brooks for an 8-3 game. In the sixth, the Knights took advantage of some Sea Gull miscues and scored a pair of runs to pull within three, 8-5. Foltz scored as Brooks reached on an error.
Blake Decker scored on a sacrifice fly by
Nick Ciesielka.
Salisbury got a run back in the seventh and then put five on the board in the eighth for the 14-5 final.
Michael Harless started the game on the mound.
Max Brown went three innings and allowed a run on a hit.
Jake Hommer pitched 2.2 innings.
Tommy Angelucci and
Andreas Johnson rounded out the game.
Neumann (13-10-1) will host John Jay College on Thursday afternoon beginning at 3:30 PM.
