ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Lacrosse team were handed a tough non-conference loss by No. 4 Salisbury University on Wednesday afternoon, dropped a 21-3 decision.
Salisbury got the scoring started at the 12:55 mark of the first quarter and after the dust settled on the first 15 minutes, they had a 7-0 advantage. They continued to push the pace with six more goals in the second quarter to lead by 13. 1:09 into the third,
Maggie Miller took a pass from
Alena Catka and nailed a spinning shot for her 14
th goal of the season. The Sea Gulls would score the remaining five goals of the quarter for an 18-1 lead. After Salisbury took the lead to 20, Catka scored at the 7:47 mark, unassisted, and with 2:52 left after a pass from
Gracie Kucia, for her 30
th of the season.
Catka finished with two goals and an assist, adding three draw controls and two caused turnovers. Miller helped out with two ground balls and two draw controls.
Sarah Kiraly made nine saves in the effort.
Neumann (3-7, 1-0 Atlantic East) will return to action on Wednesday, April 8
th when they visit Centenary University for a 4:00 PM start.
