Welcome to Meet the Captains, the Men's Volleyball Edition. Let's learn more about the 2026 captains:
Christian DeMarco,
Trey Edmonds and
Isaiah Thomas.
Christian DeMarco – Junior Libero from Woolwich, N.J.
Q: How long have you been playing your sport?
A: I have been playing volleyball now for 6 years
Q: What is your best memory playing your sport before Neumann?
A: My best memory before playing at Neumann is winning the championship with my high school team.
Q: What does it mean to you to be named Captain?
A: It means the world to me. My biggest goal of this year was to be the best leader that I could be, and being captain has helped with that a lot. I love being a leader for all of the younger kids; I like coming in every day and watching them get better with every rep that they take.
Q: What is your major and why?
A: My major is cybersecurity. I am a cyber major because I wanted something that was not going to get taken over easily by AI in the future. I also chose cyber because it makes me more qualified for when I apply to the FBI in a few years.
Q: What is your dream job after graduating?
A: My dream job after college would definitely be the FBI
Q: What is your advice to the student-athletes just starting their collegiate career?
A: I would like to say work hard, but also do not ignore your schoolwork. The biggest thing that I have learned since my time here is coming to an end is that it is really important to focus on your schoolwork. Sports are fun, but make sure you think about after it as well.
Trey Edmonds – Junior Outside Hitter from Mechanicsburg, Pa.
Q: How long have you been playing your sport?
A: I've been playing volleyball for 6 years since my freshman year of Highschool.
Q: What is your best memory playing your sport before Neumann?
A: My best memory playing volleyball has to be winning the conference Title in PIAA District 3. Cumberland Valley hadn't won since 2008, so taking home the title in 2023 was a huge accomplishment.
Q: What does it mean to you to be named Captain?
A: To me, being a captain is earning the coach's trust to guide the team physically and mentally in practices and in games. To be an example of what it means to be a Neumann Knight.
Q: What is your major and why?
A: I am majoring in Communication and Digital media as well as Air Force ROTC. I chose this route because I want to be a pilot and have decided to go through the Air Force to get there.
Q: What is your dream job after graduating?
A: My dream job is to be a Professional Pilot for a commercial airline.
Q: What is your advice to the student-athletes just starting their collegiate career?
A: My best advice to student athletes beginning their career is that no matter how much you love your sport, you need to take care of yourself first, mentally and physically. If you have an injury, take some time to rest and recover in the off-season. You need to balance continuing to get better and staying physically and mentally healthy. It can be tough at times, but use your teammates as resources, and you'll get by.
Isaiah Thomas – Senior Outside Hitter from Philadelphia, Pa.
Q: How long have you been playing your sport?
A: I have been playing volleyball for 9 years now.
Q: What is your best memory playing your sport before Neumann?
A: I think the best moment was making it to the public league championships back in high school.
Q: What does it mean to you to be named Captain?
A: Being captain means a lot. When my teammates can look up to me in times of need, lean on me, and trust me, it makes me want to work harder. I never want to take being captain lightly. It took a lot of hard work to get to where I am now, and I want to continue working hard for them.
Q: What is your major and why?
A: My major is business finance. I chose this because my family has a lot of businesses related to finance.
Q: What is your dream job after graduating?
A: When I graduate, I want to work with my mother in her business and her field, as well as continue my volleyball career. I want to play professionally and eventually reach the highest level of volleyball.
Q: What is your advice to the student-athletes just starting their collegiate career?
A: My advice would be to enjoy every moment you're here. Yes, academics matter, but what matters most is the people you surround yourself with. Surround yourself with friends who care, who make you laugh, and who keep you motivated. Nothing will make college better than having those people by your side.
