ASTON, Pa. – On March 11, 2025, Neumann University hosted its annual Alumni Awards Ceremony. This year, Eric Rosen '02 and Becky Guinto '17 '20 were inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame.
 
Eric Rosen
Rosen made a lasting impact on the university's baseball program as a four-year starter and three-year team captain. Upon graduation, he held multiple program records, including all-time hits, games played, and at-bats, while ranking in the top ten for steals, runs scored, and fielding percentage. His exceptional performance earned him 2nd Team All-PAC honors and the prestigious St. Francis Award in 2002. Eric was also inducted into the Neumann University Hall of Fame with the 1999 Baseball Team and the Bishop Eustace Hall of Fame with the 1997 Baseball Team. 
 
Becky Guinto
Guinto left a remarkable legacy as a two-sport varsity athlete in field hockey and softball, while also competing in indoor track for two years. A dedicated leader, she served as team captain for both field hockey (2016) and softball (2017), earning numerous accolades for her athletic, academic, and leadership excellence. 
 
Her impressive athletic career includes recognition as a Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area honoree (2015-2017), CoSIDA Academic All-American, NFCA All-Region Second Team selection (2014-2017), and ECAC DIII Mid-Atlantic All-Stars Second Team honoree (2015, 2016). She was also named to the CSAC First Team All-Conference (2015-2016) and CSAC All-Academic Team every semester, demonstrating her commitment to both sport and scholarship. 
 
Nafees Norris
In addition to the two new Hall of Fame members, former men's cross country and track and field team member Nafees Norris received the Distinguished Alumni from the School of Nursing and Health Sciences for being a trailblazer in biopharmaceutical engineering and a dedicated advocate for STEM education. 
 
Norris earned his biology degree from Neumann University, where he developed the skills and confidence to pursue groundbreaking scientific advancements. His academic journey continued at Thomas Jefferson University, where he made history as the first African American man admitted to the Jefferson Institute for Bioprocessing and earned a master's degree in biopharmaceutical engineering. 
 
His contributions to bioprocessing and biopharmaceutical sciences are remarkable. Nafees was awarded the first-ever Pall Corporation Scholarship for Bioprocessing, recognizing his potential to transform the industry. His work includes developing mRNA vaccines for COVID-19 and innovative cancer treatments, showcasing his commitment to global health advancements. 
 
Beyond his scientific achievements, Nafees is a mentor and leader, inspiring young students from underrepresented communities to pursue careers in science. His passion for diversity and inclusion in the biopharma industry led him to establish Nafees Innovations, an organization dedicated to making STEM education accessible.  
 
Sister Linda DeCero, OSF
Current Athletics Hall of Fame member and team chaplain to many athletic teams, Sister Linda received President's Distinguished Alumni Award.
 
Sister Linda has dedicated her life to education, pastoral ministry, and student development, embodying the Franciscan values of service, integrity, and compassion. A lifelong educator and mentor, she currently serves as the Director of Pastoral Ministry at Neumann University, where she has played a pivotal role in campus ministry, student life, and spiritual formation. 
 
Sister Linda earned her Master of Science in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Neumann College in 2001 and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Trenton State College in 1983. Committed to continuous spiritual and professional growth, she completed a Certificate of Renewal for Ministry at All Hallows College in Dublin, Ireland (2003-2004). 
 
A leader in mission integration, Sister Linda has served on Neumann University's Board of Student Affairs, chaired multiple search committees, and provided chaplaincy for athletic teams and student leaders. Her contributions have been recognized through prestigious honors, including the Neumann College Spirit of Francis/Clare Award (2003), Alumni Recognition Award (2015), and induction into the Neumann University Athletics Hall of Fame (2017). 
 
Dedicated to faith, education, and student success, Sister Linda continues to enrich the Neumann University community through her unwavering commitment to Franciscan service and leadership.
