PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – On Friday, the Neumann University Outdoor Track team took part in one of the most prestigious meets of the year, the 127^th running of the Penn Relays, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania at Franklin Field.
 
Not only were the Knights battling some of the top talent in the country from division one, two, and three, they had to deal with mother nature as it rained for most of the event. The first event featuring a Neumann squad was the women's 4x100 meter Eastern race. The combination of Djeneba Konake, Janell Goldsmith, Kyleigh Joniec, and Ny'zhja Loper, finished with a time of 54.94 seconds.
 
Next for the Knights, was the Men's Sprint Relay Championship of America. Matt Ricciardi, Sincere Denson, Montaz Johnson, and Jaron McNeil ran their race in 4:26.53. Finally, In the 4x400 meter Eastern relay, Courtney Humphreys, Michaela Fletcher, Goldsmith, and Joniec, completed their heat in 4:41.49.
 
Neumann will take the lessons learned from battling against today's elite competition to the Lions Outdoor Invitational, hosted by the College of New Jersey, on Saturday in Ewing, N.J.
