SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Neumann University men's and women's track and field teams closed out the regular season portion of their schedules by competing at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet on Monday afternoon.
Nafisa Saunders starred for the women on the afternoon as the lone performer from the team. The senior guaranteed herself one more meet, qualifying for the ECAC Championships in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.73.
The men were led by excellent efforts in the 100 meter (11.62) and 200 meter (23.31) dash from
Khalil Queen, who narrowly missed qualifying for the ECAC Championships in both events. The sophomore standout missed by a tenth of a second in each event.
Danny Cangelosi also barely missed out on the championship meet in the javelin, recording a throw of 38.14 meters to just miss the standard of 40.45 meters.
Neumann will now send its top performers from the season to the ECAC Championship meet on Wednesday, May 15
th at Southern Connecticut State University.
