Women's Ice Hockey Succumbs to Oswego State 3-0

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey season came to an end against Oswego State University in the ECAC West first round of the playoff Saturday afternoon 3-0.

The first period saw the Lakers take a 1-0 lead. The Knights gave up a power play goal in the first period that became costly. With only one second left on the clock to end the period, the Lakers would strike. The Knights were outshot 10-6 in the period.

The Lakers scored two early goals in the second period. The second goal of the game came at the 4:44 mark off another power play opportunity. Less than two minutes later, the Lakers would score 6:35 into the period. The Knights and the Lakers both had 9 shots on goal.

Unfortunately, the Knights could not stage a comeback in the second or third period. The Lakers outshot the Knights in the third period 15-3.

Shannon Donnelly made 31 saves on the day. The Knights went 0-4 and the Lakers went 2-6 on power plays.

Neumann finishes the season 9-13-2.
